Cottage tea industry in Myanmar
Who does really know the tea industry in Myanmar? I doubt there are many people who could claim to understand this cottage industry. The whole leaf tea you see on the picture is rough, coarse and cross "contaminated" with weeds. But I have to admit, it is some of the most pleasing rustic teas I've ever tasted. Simple, straight, heavily oxidized with a gentle touch of smoke. Short of sophistication, direct, "what you see you get" kind. Maybe, one day we shall be able to bring it to the world.

BTW, notrthern Myanmar is actually one of the geograpies whre Camelia Sinsnsis has been native. The home land of tea tree.
